An Apology Statement from the Glossier Team:

It truly saddens us that we are having to make this statement, but it has recently come to our attention that there has been online discourse stating that we have an ‘insidious culture’ within our stores of ‘anti-blackness, transphobia, ableism and retaliation’. We thought it only right to address these accusations and attempt to reassure members of our global community.

First of all we wanted to say thank you to those who have spoken out and brought this to our attention, this sense of community and idea of there being a safe space where everyone can talk and be heard is one of our favourite things about our customers. You spoke and this is us making an attempt to listen:

We want you all to know that we do not and will not take allegations of these kind lightly. Of course we realise that workplace cultures do not just come into being on their own and so we will strive to do our best to eliminate this toxicity and make an effort to change the user experience of our stores for the better.

We understand how important inclusivity and diversity is and have always prided ourselves on having a balanced spectrum of shades for our makeup and an array of models from different ethnic backgrounds in all of our shoots. We realise our influence as a company and obviously representation matters to us; especially for a brand like ours that tends to cater to a younger audience.

As a company whose core values and belief systems stem from the idea of makeup and skincare being simple, fun and accessible. All we’ve ever wanted is to help people feel beautiful and comfortable in their own skin.

However, it has become apparent to us that something has gone very wrong and that these core values are not being felt by customers. Here at Glossier HQ we are putting steps in place to instigate better company wide communication to make sure that all of our values and core beliefs are expressed throughout every single step of service that we are offering.

We have consulted experts in order to be able to deliver the best Diversity Equity and Inclusion training to all members of our staff and will undergo a harsher vetting process for applicants to our stores in order to make sure that only positive experiences are being had with our helpers. We never ever want to convey the message or feeling that anyone at all is unwelcome in our stores.

When we were designing our spaces and hiring our initial staff the main idea that we had in the back of our minds was that we wanted to create a judgement free zone where people were free to try out our products and express their creativity. This still stands and we promise to make every effort that we can to try and bring back this standard to our spaces.

Lots of love and our sincerest apologies,

The Glossier Team

Audio – Voiceover for Social Media Post (day in the life of a brand Tiktok)

Hi, welcome to a day in the life at Glossier HQ!

My name is Jess and I work on the content team here in NYC.

So today I’m filming a TikTok of our store and also showing off some of our most coveted products – then a little bit later on I’ll be shooting and editing some new products for a super top secret launch.

Okay – so welcome to our flagship store; I’ll give you a tour while I shoot some content, here we have our main showroom and as youve probably noticed everything in our stores are pink.

Okay so let’s move towards our skincare station! Here we have sinks and mirrors so you can properly test out all of our glorious skincare products.

Let’s just pause for a second while I take some photos of our skincare favourites; here we have our milk jelly cleanser, our priming moisturiser and our balm dotcom in the delicious best-selling fragrance, birthday cake.

Next up are our two brand new fragrances; here we have Glossier Doux, Glossier Reve and of course our original Glossier You.

Now let me introduce you to some of our makeup best sellers; here we have cloud paint, boy brow and haloscope highlight – as well as basics like our stretch foundation and concealers.

This is Beth, one of our floor members – notice her outfit? If you need help or any information about our products; anyone in a pink jump suit is equipped to help.

Now it’s time for me to shoot some top secret new products so let’s head upstairs into the Glossier HQ offices!

Finally it’s time for me to edit our mystery shoot – which means it’s time for us to say goodbye!

Thanks so much for joining me!

Keep an eye on our socials for an exciting and exclusive sneak peak..
